Since forming Basileus, the company has made the following investments:
Continental Refining: Basileus has funded the purchase of a gold and silver refining business with an aim to grow it into Africa. With the recent growth in the number of new junior gold mining companies in Africa, Basileus identified the opportunity to establish an independent refinery to take advantage of the downstream opportunities that will arise as a result in the growth in mining output. |

Avalloy: Avalloy is the first and currently only super alloy producer on the African Continent. Avalloy was purchased from African Rainbow Minerals in 2006 by a consortium comprising the Abante Group and a management team. The investment has yielded positive results in furthering beneficiation initiatives within South Africa which have culminated in Avalloy supplying Rolls Royce high value alloys for its jet engine program. In May 2007 Rolls Royce purchased a 15% shareholding in Avalloy. In March 2008, Basileus holds a 65% equity position in Avalloy.

Cash Connect: Cash Connect Management Solutions specialises in the delivering comprehensive end-to-end cash management solutions to the retail cash management sector. Basileus acquired a controlling stake in Cash Connect with a view to funding its growth and augmenting its management team with skills such as active treasury management.

Ocean's Edge: Ocean's Edge is a business founded by Basileus to take advantage of the lack of a significant player in the fresh fish distribution sector in South Africa. Started in 2009 Ocean's Edge has recently signed numerous agreements to distribute fresh fish in the Western Cape. It is seeking to grow this into the rest of South Africa and create a platform for the South African consumer to obtain fresh fish from a trusted and efficient source.

Kawuleza Connect: Kawuleza Connect holds nationwide network and service licences from ICASA to be able to offer telephony infrastructure and services across South Africa. Currently Kawuleza Connect has a range of clients through its standard service offering of dedicated wireless solutions, ADSL connection, VOIP and web services. Kawuleza Connect also has a WiMax test licence, and is currently rolling out a beta test to demonstrate the superior technical advantage of its exclusive technology partnership with SOMA Networks Incorporated. Basileus acquired a controlling stake in Kawuleza Connect and is funding Kawuleza Connect to deliver growth in its standard service offering and to conclude a successful WiMax beta test in order to apply for a commercial WiMax licence and spectrum allocation from ICASA. Should Kawuleza Connect be successful in acquiring a commercial licence and spectrum, Kawuleza Connect aims to become a premier supplier of content and mobile bandwidth incorporating voice, data and video solutions.
